Google recently unveiled the new lineup of Pixel 9 phones. The new series includes the Google Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Pixel 9 Fold. While the global release is yet to happen for all the models, the phones are available in some regions.

The highlight of the new Pixel phone series is the Pixel 9 Pro XL, which is the highest-end model, excluding the Fold. And now, a few Pixel 9 Pro XL users seem to be having issues with the wireless charging. Considering the fact that Google decided against using a new fast wireless charging standard, this is more disappointing news.

Users say that the Pixel 9 Pro XL has trouble drawing power

According to a Reddit post, the Pixel 9 Pro XL has issues with wireless charging. The user mentioned that when the phone is connected to the charger, it draws power for a few seconds and then stops abruptly.

“I’ve tried it on a battery pack with magsafe and it does the same,” the user explained in the post. Further, it does not seem to be a heating issue, as the user said that the device was cool to touch.

The post quickly gained traction, and several other Reddit users commented that they were facing a similar issue. “My 9 Pro XL is doing the same thing, using it with a Thin borne magsafe case and a JSAUX Magnetic wireless charger” I got from Amazon. It starts charging, then stops, then starts, then stops, then starts, etc.,” one of the users wrote in a comment.

In addition to Reddit, users also posted about the same charging issue on the Google support forum. The author of the Reddit post added a comment saying that Google is aware of the bug and is working on it. So, it is likely that Google will soon roll out a software patch to address the issue.

In case you missed it, Google hosted the ‘Made by Google' event earlier this month. This event was highly anticipated as Google was expected to make major announcements – and it did not disappoint. Along with the Pixel 9 series, the company also rolled out Pixel Buds Pro 2, Pixel Watch 3, and other products.
