With the launch set for 7th November, every day, there is something new about the upcoming and most probably the most awaited CPU of the year, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. Yesterday, we got our first look at the leaked full specifications of the CPU, and today, the processor was listed on two different retailers in France and Lithuania.
This isn’t the first time the Ryzen 7 9800X3D’s listing has been leaked online. About a week ago, the processor was listed on two retailers, with price tags of $484 and $524.62.
The latest leaked listing shows prices from $450 to $480 (excluding VAT)
VideoCardz took a screenshot of the leaked listings, which showed the CPU being available for €463.58 (without VAT) and €556.27 (with VAT) in the French retailer PC21.
The second listing is from Inida, a retailer in Lithuania. Their listing of the 9800X3D shows a price tag of €557.31 (with VAT); removing the 20% VAT brings the price to around €462.
While we expect the 9800X3D to be below $500 USD, we should take these leaked prices with a grain of salt. That’s because it is likely that the retailers used placeholder figures to test the listings.

9800X3D could be around $100 cheaper than the Core Ultra 9 285K

Intel launched its Core Ultra line-up of Arrow Lake CPUs last week, and the Core Ultra 9 285K, its flagship offering, costs a solid $590. Well, there will not be any competition between the 9800X3D and Core 285K in games. The 285K cannot even beat the last-gen 7800X3D, so the 9800X3D should be a completely different league.
However, we saw that the 9800X3D scored 3,305 and 18,560 points in single-core and multi-core Geekbench. Comparing that to our Core Ultra 9 285K review, in which the flagship Intel CPU 3,085 and 23,550 points in Geekbench, it is very interesting to see how AMD handles the productivity aspect of their X3D CPUs this time.
Of course, there is also the aspect of efficiency. The X3D chips are generally very power efficient, but Intel is also pushing towards achieving high power efficiency, even if it costs them some gaming points. The leaked 9800X3D specs suggest a 120W TDP, the same as 7800X3D, but how much power these new-gen X3D CPUs consume in gaming and under load is yet to be tested.
