Steam Spring Sale start time, countdown clock, and what to expect from the 2026 event
Table of Contents
Steam regularly hosts different sales throughout the year, but its seasonal events are easily the biggest ones (and the ones you should most look forward to). These sales bring huge discounts across hundreds of games, making them the perfect time for players to pick up titles they’ve been waiting to go on sale. And the latest event, the Spring Sale, is scheduled to go live today.
Valve has confirmed almost 30 Steam sales happening in 2026. Six have already happened in our journey towards today’s Spring Sale grand opening, featuring a mixture of genres – like the unusual ‘Horse Fest’. Valve said last year that it was going to experiment with “more niche” Steam sales in 2026, and it has disappointed so far.
When will the Steam Spring Sale 2026 start?
According to Valve, the Steam Spring Sale will begin today, March 19, at 10 AM PT, and will remain active until March 26. This gives players a full week to take advantage of the discounts. Due to time zone differences, the start time varies by region, so here’s a list to help you out; some regions will have to wait until the early hours of March 20.

What to expect from the Steam Spring Sale in 2026
The Spring Sale is one of Steam’s biggest discount events, and it typically includes deals of up to 90% or even 95% off. The biggest discounts are usually applied to older titles, but newer games can also get smaller price cuts, often around 5% to 10%.
Older, but still incredibly popular games like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2 are expected to see discounts of over 50%, which is usually the case during major seasonal sales. The trailer above mentions a handful of games, all of which you can expect to enjoy a discount throughout the 2026 Spring Sale; these are as follows:
- Satisfactory
- RV There Yet?
- Manor Lords
- DAVE THE DIVER
- No Man’s Sky
- Phasmophobia
- Pathologic 3
- The Outlast Trials
- YAPYAP
- ROUTINE
- Strange Antiquities
- A Little to the Left
- Euro Truck Simulator 2
- Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora
- Terraria
- Raft
- The Forest
- Ready or Not
- MENACE
- UNBEATABLE
- Sons of the Forest
- Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons: Battlemarked
- BeamNG.drive
Overall, the Steam Spring Sale is a great opportunity to grab games at much lower prices. Games should be discounted as soon as the sale goes live, and remain at the same price until it ends on March 26. Two massive games are launching on Steam today in the form of Crimson Desert and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, though there’s no reason for these to get any sort of launch-day discount. Another recent AAA game that comes to mind is Resident Evil Requiem, but that’s also unlikely to get a price cut.
