Table of Contents
The Steam Winter Sale kicked off a week ahead of Christmas, on December 18, offering discounts on thousands of games. The sale is still live at the time of writing this, and you can still expand your game library for a fraction of the price. However, just like every other sales event, all good things must come to an end – and the end date happens to be today, January 5.
When will the Steam Winter Sale end today?
Today marks the end of the Steam Winter Sale, and most games will return to their original prices once it’s over. There will still be some deals live across the storefront, but the majority will no longer be available at discounted prices.
According to Valve, the Winter Sale will conclude on January 5, 2026, at 10 AM PST. Of course, the local time will be different for everyone, depending on where you live. To help you out, we’ve listed the end times for different regions below:
- Los Angeles – 10 AM PST (January 5)
- New York – 1 PM EST (January 5)
- London – 6 PM GMT (January 5)
- Berlin – 7 PM CET (January 5)
- Tokyo – 3 AM JST (January 6)
- Sydney – 5 AM AEST (January 6)
We’ve also added a countdown clock above, which will help you track the exact hours, minutes, and seconds remaining until the sale ends. If you can’t see the clock, it means the sale is over.

Once the Winter Sale ends, fans will have to wait until March to enjoy the next big seasonal sale, which will kick off on March 19 and conclude on the 26th. Before then, there will be several regular sales events. For instance, the Detective Fest will go live on January 12, and after that, the Board Game Fest will kick off on January 26. The Steam Next Fest, which is designed to celebrate upcoming games and allows players to try out demos, will also be hosted in the last week of February. Valve has also said that it plans to experiment with “more niche” Steam sales this year.
In any case, there are still some hours left for you to grab plenty of great games for under $10, under $5, and even under $3 during the Winter Sale. If you’ve just missed the deadline, then we recommend checking out Green Man Gaming as an alternative, which is running its holiday sale until January 9.
