Unfortunately, it’s not yet on a gaming laptop but there is now a dual monitor laptop as ACEMAGIC has opened up its preorders for its X1 360° Horizontal Dual-Screen laptop (thanks to Videocardz). Although the hinge doesn’t go full 360° but 180° instead and allows you to have a screen on the front and back of your lid which is a nice way to share your screen or present to people from the back instead of huddling over the front and squeezing in.

Instead, it is more targeting the business laptop market and saving you the trouble of having to have a portable monitor or standalone one on your desk. But now you can take up more space without needing anything externally. It does have some usefulness as many dual-screen users know, like multitasking and preparing important presentations and having the data alongside it without having to squeeze it in on the same screen.

At the time of writing and initial release, the laptop is available for $899 but apparently, that’s with a discount from the $1,399 MSRP of the machine. This isn’t too much for a laptop but depends on the specs, as there we’ll find more information on the kind of things you can do, but it certainly doesn’t have a standalone GPU on board opting for onboard graphics, so don’t expect anything too grand.

ACEMAGIC X1 360° specs

This laptop has some more simple specs with a bit older tech inside, but should still provide a good light performance value where the CPU is all that’s required. There are also no details specifically on the monitors but being 1080p 14-inch displays it’s unlikely to be much more than an LED panel.

There is also an Intel 12th Gen mobile CPU on board featuring 10 cores and 12 threads that are clocked at 2.5GHz and can boost up to 4.7GHz along with utilizing the Intel Iris Xe integrated graphics. For the memory, it just gets 16GB of DDR4, with the storage featuring 1TB 2280 NVMe SSD at PCIe 3 so it’s a fast system but not the latest specs.

That is also true for the wireless, as it supports WiFi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 so also not quite the likes of WiFi 6E or 7 but should be helping with the lower costs. There is also a USB A 3.0 port, an HDMI 2.0, and two Type-C with on for display and one just for charging.

There is in fact another laptop to match this release as well in August. The GPD Duo dual screen is also expected to come out, but that does opt for a bit more power and spec. Instead going for a new AMD Ryzen 9 processor with Radeon graphics and two AMOLED screens that hinge from the top.
