Two Micro Center bundles offer significant savings on the popular AMD 7800X3D
Table of Contents
Micro Center offers a great way to start building out your gaming PC, with bundles that give you a great combination and often at a lower price. Two of them are currently on sale, which contain one of the gaming CPUs, the 7800X3D. Even with the 9800X3D succeeding it, it remains an excellent-performing processor with powerful value right now.
Combined with a great gaming motherboard and a speedy set of DDR5 RAM, you’re well-equipped for your build already. With just a necessary power supply, graphics card, and case, you can allocate more budget towards those to get even more out of it. So here’s what the bundle has to offer.
The 7800X3D Micro Center bundles
Within the two bundles, you find the same 7800X3D CPU in both, along with the G.Skill Flare X5 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, and a choice of two motherboards. The initial B650-E TUF model is available for $499.33, while upgrading to the B650-A ROG Strix model for $30 more is also an option.
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS B650-A ROG Strix Gaming WiFi, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5 6000 Kit – $499.33
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS B650-E TUF Gaming, G.Skill Flare X5 Series 32GB DDR5-6000 Kit – $529.99
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
When AMD brought about the AM5 platform, it obviously brought its X3D CPUs to the platform too, and with even better success than its previous ones. As we found in our 7800X3D review, it excels in gaming and as a processing powerhouse. Even improving its creative workload performance, which makes it the top choice for value.
Even though the 9800X3D came out as an even better improvement, it costs a lot more for the privilege of getting that, considering the bundles available for those. Instead, you can get most of the way there with the 7800X3D and for a lot better price.

Coming with eight cores and 16 threads, the processor operates at a 120W TDP and a PPT capable of reaching 162W, along with a clock rate of 4.2GHz, which can turbo up to 5GHz. That’s a lot more set in comparison to the 9000 X3D processors, which can be overclocked thanks to their redesign and improved cooling capabilities.
Motherboards: ASUS B650
For the motherboards, the bundles both come with the ASUS B650s. They are both standard ATX size with the same chipset, but it’s some of the other features that differ. Such as the B650-E TUF supporting higher overclocks for your memory if you ever want to get a different set compared to the bundle, and even for higher capacities.
Although the Strix comes with additional connectors and features for your use, it may not be worth paying the premium price it requires. That is the usual for Strix and white models, though, so you might be better off with the TUF model.

RAM: G.Skill Flare X5
For the RAM, it’s fairly standard for the Micro Center bundles in general. The G.Skill Flare X5 features a 32GB capacity, ideal for multitasking and handling numerous workloads. With a 6,000MHz overclock, they’re not the fastest available, but they’re quick enough to maximize your processor’s performance.
They do have some slower CAS timings for the speeds; it’s not the worst, but also not the greatest. With a latency of 36, faster models are available, but they are ripe for an upgrade down the road.
How much you’ll save
The two 3-in-1 bundles offer a significant range of savings, particularly for the B650-E TUF compared to the B650-A. On the former, you have a price of $499.33 down from the $649.97 retail price, which totals a saving of over $150.
In comparison, the one using a B650-A Strix instead is available for $529.99. That provides a saving of just under $105, as it comes down from the usual price of $634.97.
Both are only available for pickup at various Micro Center locations, so be sure to check your availability and plan your trip accordingly for whichever bundle you choose.
