Google’s newest addition to the Pixel family is bringing a brand-new processing chip, an upgraded camera, and most importantly, some brand-new color options. As usual, when a new smartphone comes out, one of the things people look forward to the most is finding out what new color variants are available, and the Pixel 8 is no exception. This article will explain the Google Pixel 8 colors, so you know what shades you’ll be able to get this next-gen device in.
Google Pixel 8 case color options
The design of the Pixel 8 so far is in keeping with the overall sleek aesthetics of the Google Pixel phones, but is receiving rounded corners similar to the look of other top-market devices. Google isn’t particularly loyal to recurring color schemes, so it’s likely we’ll see something different to the Lemongrass and Hazel colors of the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. Each Pixel 8 phone will have three color options: two of these were first confirmed by Google in a sneak peek preview of its new devices – a pale pink Pixel 8 and a soft beige Pixel 8 Pro. Google Pixel 8 colors
We now know that the Pixel 8 will come in 3 color options:
- Rose (light pink)
- Hazel (grey)
- Obsidian (black)
Previous rumors of a Jade color variant for a vanilla option of the Pixel 8 seem to have died down now that we’ve moved passed the release date. It is possible that the Jade color scheme could be launched at some point, in a similar way to the Pixel 7a received a fourth exclusive color option, a bright “Coral”, on the Google Store, but this is not confirmed.
Google Pixel 8 Pro colors
The Pixel 8 will also be getting a classic black color scheme, as well as an off-white and an attractive light blue.
- Bay (light blue)
- Porcelain (off-white)
- Obsidian (black)
For both phones, the outside frame and camera bar will match the color of the case for a cohesive and modern look. As well as new colors, it seems that the Pixel 8 phones will differ in other ways to the previous Pixel’s. This includes a better battery life, an upgrade to the Tensor G3 processor, and a more compact size and weight.
Final thoughts
Overall, we’ve been treated to a few new color schemes for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro, as well as getting Pixel Watch 2‘s that match. However, as well as getting a rounded look and Gorilla Glass Victus cases, the Pixel 8 devices are focused on pushing the boundaries of on-device AI, and will be the first phones rolled out with Android 14.
