The Intel Core Ultra 9 285K has finally been released, two weeks after Intel officially launched the new 200S series. We’ve already reviewed the 285K if you want to have a look – the new CPU became available to buy on the 24th of October. If you’re looking for where to buy one at launch, check out our where to buy Intel Core Ultra CPUs guide.
Recently, 13th and 14th-generation Intel CPUs have been going through some instability issues, as Intel even offered an extended warranty for them. In benchmarks 285K outperformed the 14900KF, which is promising after a series of unfortunate events from Team Blue – but it’s not exactly a massive performance uplift; we see the new generation as a much-needed reset to build upon later.

Intel Core Ultra 9 285K release date
The Intel Core Ultra 9 hose processors will go live on 3rd September 2024; after that, the Intel 15th-generation processors, including the 285K, will be released.
That said, many publications speculate that the LGA 1851 processors will be released on October 10th, i.e. the Arrow Lake release date, which would mean that we only have to wait a little longer. In any case, we should get a better picture after the Lunar Lake mobile processors are released.
