Features and highlights of the Alienware Aurora R16

GPU: The Alienware Aurora R16 comes equipped with the RTX 4060 GPU. This is an entry-level card in the Nvidia RTX 40-series lineup and offers 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM. We reviewed the RTX 4060 and found it to be a great card for 1080p gaming, and it was even able to deliver decent FPS in some games at 1440p.
CPU: For the CPU, you’ll get the Intel Core i7-14700F. Offering 20 cores, 28 threads, and a max boost frequency of 5.4 GHz, this CPU is great for tasks that require a lot of processing power. However, keep in mind that ‘F’ series processors can not be overclocked.
HDD & SSD combo: This gaming PC offers a 1 TB HDD and 512GB SSD. The HDD can be used to store games and other data, while the SSD can be used to store the operating system and other important software. With an SSD, you can expect fast boot and game load times.
DDR5 RAM: Most modern games these days require at least 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and the Alienware Aurora R16 offers this much. For demanding software, you might need to upgrade to 32GB in the future, but you’ll be fine for now.
Better than its predecessor: Alienware claims that the R16 is up to 40% smaller, 20% quieter, and 7% cooler than its predecessor, the R16.

Should you get the Alienware Aurora R16?

If you’re on the hunt for a gaming PC that can help you run most games smoothly at 1080p with everything set to Ultra, and can also make some games playable at 1440p, then the Alienware Aurora R16 is a good choice. When we tested the RTX 4060, we were constantly getting above 70 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p, which is a pretty demanding game. And in less resource-hungry games like CS:GO and Rainbow Six Siege, the FPS was above 490 and 390, respectively. You’re also getting a decent amount of storage and RAM, and the processor should also ensure the PC doesn’t lag in CPU-intensive tasks.
