Table of Contents
This excellent Stormcraft gaming PC is now $220 off, and has been reduced from $2,699.99 to just $2,479.99 at Newegg. That’s pretty much as affordable as it gets for an RTX 5080 prebuild, and it’s a great price considering it packs an Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor, 32GB of DDR5, and a large 2TB SSD, too. This build is a particularly strong option for those looking for excellent gaming performance, but also something with top-end multitasking and productivity capabilities. If you’re after a balanced build for 1440p and 4K gaming, video editing, working in 3D, and more, then this is a great PC to consider while it’s still reduced.
Key features of this Stormcraft Phantom RTX 5080 gaming PC
Intel Core Ultra 7 265F processor
This middle-of-the-pack option for the Intel Core Ultra Series, the 7 265F, is often found paired with the RTX 5080, and is a top choice for those looking for excellent gaming performance, with advanced workstation capabilities, all with notably better efficiency than the previous i7-14700KF. It has 20 cores and a 5.3GHz boost clock speed, which makes it adept at handling demanding multitasking, whether that be streaming, recording gameplay, running background applications, and more. In particular, it works very well with many of the most popular creative applications, like Blender and Adobe Premiere Pro, which benefit from CPUs with high core and thread counts for faster, more responsive workflows. For gaming, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D is going to be the most common alternative, or its more recent successor, the 7 9850X3D, but it’s still good for high fps 1440p and 4K with low frame latency. Be sure to read our full review of the similar K-variant to get a better idea of what to expect in terms of performance.
RTX 5080 graphics card
If you’re after top-tier 1440p, 4K, and ray tracing performance, then the RTX 5080 is one of the best graphics cards you can go for. It’s built on Nvidia’s new Blackwell architecture, so it boasts ‘next-gen’ technology, which takes it to the next level. While the raw rasterization improvements from the RTX 4080 are modest, it comes into its own with its newer GDDR7 VRAM, 4th-gen ray tracing cores, and 5th-gen tensor cores, which help to essentially supercharge your gaming experience. MFG, in particular, has a significant effect on perceived fps, and is exclusive to the 50-series, too. As for its workstation capabilities, it’s a powerhouse for AI and demanding creative tasks. In applications like Adobe Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, you can expect much faster rendering times and editing. Take a look at our RTX 5080 FE review for a deeper dive into this card’s capabilities.

Storage and RAM
You’ve got a decent-sized 2TB SSD here, which can easily hold a load of large AAA games while still giving you enough room for other files. On top of that, there’s a hefty 32GB of DDR5, which is going to be most noticeable in big, detailed, asset-heavy open-world games, like Cyberpunk 2077, where it’ll greatly reduce stutter and juddering. Of course, it’ll also give you a load of headroom when you’re working on large files in Photoshop, Blender, and more.
Things to consider
The most affordable RTX 5080 prebuilds usually have Intel Core Ultra 7-265 processors in, and they’re great if you’re looking for a workstation/ gaming experience. I’d say if you’re more interested in gaming, then it’s worth spending a couple of hundred dollars more and looking at Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5080 prebuilds instead. X3D processors, in general, are far superior when it comes to gaming performance, as they have massive L3 caches and very high boost clock speeds, ensuring high fps with very low frame latency and improved 1% lows. Stormcraft is great for these builds, as is Skytech, and they often have decent discounts at Newegg, too. Check out our top gaming PC deals below to see what’s currently on sale.
