AMD's answer to the RTX 5060 and 5060 Ti is here in the form of the Radeon RX 9060 XT. During its Computex keynote, AMD showcased the RX 9060 XT 16GB going head-to-head with the RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, claiming an average performance lead of 6%. Pricing has also been a strong point: the 16GB model is set at an MSRP of $349, while the 8GB version will come in at just $299, landing it in the RTX 5060 price range but with performance closer to the 5060 Ti.

With the cards officially launching on June 5th, there’s clearly a lot to look forward to. Strong demand is expected from budget-conscious gamers, and we're keeping our fingers crossed that Team Red doesn't run into the same launch issues Nvidia faced. That said, supply problems on the green side have started to stabilize, at least across Europe.

AMD reassures gamers just like it did with the 9070 series

In a recent post from the official AMD Gaming account on X, the company promised gamers “wide availability” for both RX 9060 XT SKUs. This is similar to what AMD's Product Management Director said during the RX 9070 series launch, where they mentioned “excellent availability across all markets.

Things didn't go quite as smoothly for Team Red back then. Due to overwhelming demand, the 9070 GPUs were selling out within minutes at nearly every major retailer. While the situation wasn't as bad as what we saw with Team Green, gamers still had to deal with scalper listings, inflated prices, and long waits for restocks.

Hopefully, we get an even smoother launch this time with the 9060 XT, and AMD now understands just how strong the demand is for its GPUs, especially since the RTX 5060 it's going up against is struggling to attract interest. Recent gaming benchmarks even show it falling behind the nearly five-year-old RTX 3070.
