Following the footsteps of AMD it seems

It seems we might not be getting our hands on the new Intel Arrow Lake processors as soon as we thought. Following the appearance of multiple Arrow Lake Core Ultra CPU listings, many have been gearing up for the release on October 17th, but now it seems we’re going to be left twiddling our thumbs for another seven long days.

HKEPC, a trusted leaker of information, over on X suggested this today, with Hassan Mujtaba from Wccftech later confirming that the information is “101% correct”. In case you aren’t aware, the new Arrow Lake processors will be the 15th generation Intel CPUs.

Intel buys some extra time before its next CPU launch

This might lead to some disappointment, but remember just recently when AMD launched its CPUs, they seemingly weren’t completely ready, even despite delaying its launch. Regardless, this is likely what Intel intends to avoid here. We’d rather wait longer for a completely functional product than get a faulty one sooner. That’s not true actually, we’d rather not wait at all.

Intel has recently been in some hot water over its 14th and 13th generation CPUs cooking themselves, and although it has been reported that the Arrow Lake-S processors will not suffer the same fate, Intel still needs this launch to go well to gain back the trust of some of its users.

The new naming convention is likely to confuse many, as it took us a second to wrap our heads around the new names, they’re pretty much all listed on Lambda-Tek’s website. But the flagship is expected to cost a pretty penny according to the latest leaks.

The new Intel Z890 chipset motherboards were also set to be released on the 17th of October alongside the Intel CPUs, but we do not know whether the motherboards have also been delayed. It’s not too disheartening to be able to buy a motherboard a week before a CPU, in our opinion, it’s much worse having a CPU lying around that you cannot use because you’re waiting for a motherboard.
