The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025 presentation has just taken place and there was a lot to soak in. If you’re interested in the brand’s latest range of smartphones, you’ll be glad to know that the Samsung Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra were all shown off during the announcement. Samsung even teased a ‘Galaxy S25 Edge’ model, though there’s still more to be revealed there.

Something we’re keen to see in any kind of mobile device – from smartphones to handhelds – is how well they perform in the battery department. After all, the battery life is one of the most limiting factors of a mobile device. Well, Samsung states that the S25 series will offer “unparalleled battery life” with the ability to “watch videos up to 31 hours”.

S25 series fitted with same battery specs as last gen

Now that the specs have been revealed, we can see that the S25 Ultra will offer a 5,000mAh battery, while the S25+ and S25 are fitted with 4,900mAh and 4,000mAh batteries respectively. You may be surprised to hear that these specs are the same as last year’s S24 series. It’s clear that Samsung is going all-in on AI for this series, so relatively little has been changed on the hardware front.

One key difference is the new 12GB of memory for all models, lifting the baseline 8GB we saw last year. As for the battery life, Samsung claims “unparalleled battery life” which is of course not reflected in the size of the battery itself. Instead, we know that the phones are fitted with the new ‘Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy’ chip, the first 3nm processor for Galaxy smartphones which boasts a 40% better NPU, 30% better GPU, and 37% better CPU. The increased efficiency of this chip could be one of the factors for improved battery life.
