I am having a problem with task manager showing 100% CPU usage with svchost.exe showing 95%. I first noticed this when automatic updates were running very slowly. I am using Windows XP Pro. The computer is a little slow, but not really excessively slow. Google comes up with a number of different suggestions, but not a clear solution. I can "end" svchost.exe with no apparent problems and this stops the problem of 100% CPU usage. I ran HighJackThis with the following log:

I still have not been able to solve this problem. I have a problem when Windows Update is downloading updates, but I can "end task" on the svchost.exe and the downloads happen at a normal rate. Ending this task does not seem to bother anything else, but the issue is still a nagging problem. Thanks for any suggestions in advance, WolfpackRon.
