They will read like any Atapi device but you'll need software to be able to burn cd's like NERO or Roxio. You may need older versions of software as well considering the age of the unit.
Hi, I have just put my Yamaha scuzzi 8/4/24 into my daughters computer running win 98se and I'm getting the message 'there are currently no supported CD recorders available make sure they are connected and switched on - I can read CDs but can't copy, anybody have an idea?
What have I missed?

If we can't find the answer we keep on trying...I'm never afraid to ask again.

There's no place like 127.0.0.1
I am using easy CD creator 4 that came with the writer - when I got the writer a couple of years ago I just put the card in (scuzzi card) and attached the cable and it was up and running - it didn't seem to need any drivers at the time "I assume the drivers it needed if it needed them where already installed".

If the SCSI card is drawing its drivers from the Win98 disk they may need to be updated from the manufacturer's website.
Also, there are firmware upgrades for your product on the Yamaha website.
