You can SLI mixed cards to an extent. But not a 7xxx and an 8800. They are to different.

different at the moment i have a BFG 7950gt 512mb graphics card i was thinking of getting a 8800gts/gtx (when i manage to save) can i SLI them because it says you must have 2 exact same card same make. because i think its a waste of my 7950 to go in a cupboard and collect dust![]()
