it's not the CPU that you have to be concered about...........it's the GPU interface which I'm betting is AGP........... and therefor is not compatable with your P4 MotherBoard.... can't put a PCI-e card in a AGP slot

go here to see all the graphics cards http://www.techarp.com/article/Deskt...idia_4_big.png

I have a P4 with an AGP also at 3.06..I put an ATI HD3850 AGP card in....the best one available.......the next card down from that is the HD1950 and then the HD1650 and then X800.........

With the HD 3850 and 3g RAM, I can play BF2142, (on full) Fallout3 (on full) Crysis (on high, I have DX10 with this but lags on Ultra)...you get the picture

i gave you the list.......... ATI HD3850 is the top AGP card ever.....period! DX10......320 stream......overclockable........
however it will not matter as your CPU will bottleneck so you only need a HD1950 or HD1650 would do nicely you can see here the ati cards http://www.techarp.com/article/Deskt.../ati_4_big.png

the gigabyte card is fine but the ATI card had twice the memory bus 128 gigabyte vs 256 for the ATI and the same for the next one

........buy whichever is in your budget and they will all work........make sure you have enough RAM and Power Supply
