How to connect Bluetooth headphones to a PS5 – Simple step-by-step guide

Step

1

Charge your headphones

It sounds silly, but make sure your headphones are charged! If they aren’t charged, they obviously won’t be able to turn on and you won’t be able to pair them in the later steps.

Step

2

Insert your Bluetooth adapter into your PS5

Once your headphones or charged, or are on charge, insert your Bluetooth adapter into one of your PS5’s four USB ports. It doesn’t matter which port it goes in, but consider what else you may need to plug in too. The front ports are also likely to see less interference, depending on the configuration of your gaming setup.

Make sure to check that you have selected a compatible Bluetooth adapter. Your adapter will need to support audio signals, have a pairing button, and is a transmitter, rather than a receiver.

Step

3

Pair your headphones with your adapter

The next step is to pair your headphones with the Bluetooth adapter. This can be done by either pressing the pairing button on your adapter (depending on the model), or by connecting the two via an app on your smartphone.

That’s it. Once your headphones are paired to the adapter inserted into your PS5, you are ready to go. After these steps are complete, check your headphones are working by listening to see if the desired sound is coming through. You may need to go into your PS5 sound settings and select the correct output if your console does not do so automatically.
