Released at the beginning of the series, the RTX 5080 was the second in command for the Blackwell series of graphics cards. Dropping the price and specs from the flagship, it was a bit more affordable. But even still, it raised the prices over the previous generation, and it was a rather surprising release still. So it’s not a surprise you may want to find some Black Friday GPU deals to make it a bit more palatable.
We’ve reviewed a couple of models of the RTX 5080, and it has plenty to offer as a 4K gaming GPU. Tests of the Founder’s Edition model show impressive engineering in keeping the size down while still keeping thermals and clock rates intact. On the other hand, the ROG Astral has heft and no shame in size and design, as it takes up plenty of space, but provides some rather high overclocks.
But there are still plenty of other models you can choose between, and all of them with varying prices and designs. So, I’m finding some of the Nvidia Black Friday deals to get them at a discounted price. Performance of the RTX 5080
With two reviews for the RTX 5080, we have a selection of examples showing what kind of performance to expect from it. Particularly, the FE model is the base level to expect, while third-party models like the ROG Astral show the potential of the overclocked GPU.
Even though it might not reflect what every RTX 5080 will be like, it is the sort of level to expect. With a variety of designs that alter the boost clocks and thermal performance, the various models offer a variety of abilities. So you can get an idea of the gaming and work performance of this card, below.
In our testing, the RTX 5080 could easily run 4K gaming for the most part at high-level settings, achieving over 60 FPS depending on the game. But something like Cyberpunk ran 72fps with ray tracing, dropping that down to 35 fps, with, of course, the ability to use DLSS 4 to improve on that. While in 3DMark it was capable of reaching 21,568 in FSU, 16,069 in TSE, 221,113 in Port Royal, and 8,235 in Steel Nomad.
