AMD fans are currently looking forward to the launch of the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, which will be the first 9000X3D CPU to hit the market. The company officially announced it yesterday and shared details about its features, pricing, and release date. And now, it seems like retailers have started preparing for its launch, as the processor has appeared on a popular US retailer’s website.
AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D gets listed on Newegg
Newegg seems to be one of the first retailers in the US to list the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. While there is currently no option to pre order the processor, Newegg mentions that orders will begin at 6 AM PST on Thursday, November 7. Although Newegg has not provided any pricing information yet, AMD announced yesterday that the processor will launch with an MSRP of $479. It is, however, important to keep in mind that prices may rise a few weeks after launch, especially once the initial stock sells out and scalpers try to take advantage of the situation.

AMD has confirmed that the 9800X3D will offer 8% better gaming performance compared to its predecessor, the 7800X3D, and 20% better performance than the Intel Core Ultra 9 285K. It will pack 8 cores, 16 threads, a max boost clock of 5.2 GHz, and a 96MB L3 Cache.
On top of that, thanks to reversed 3D V-Cache and CCD layering, the CPU will offer better thermal performance. Users will also be able to overclock the 9800X3D, something that you couldn’t do with the previous-gen X3D chips. This will allow you to further boost the CPU’s performance in gaming. Based on what the 9800X3D will offer, the demand for it is expected to be high, so it may be very challenging to get one during the first few days of its release.
In other news, the Ryzen 9000 series has also dropped to its lowest ever price on Amazon, so you might want to check those out if you’ve been planning to upgrade.
