The latest Call of Duty game, Black Ops 6, has been out for less than a week and there has been plenty to talk about since its launch. While the game may currently have mixed reviews on Steam, there are no doubt plenty of players on PC, and one thing we always like to talk about is PC performance.

Nvidia and AMD are by far more popular than Intel when it comes to GPUs, and these new BO6 benchmarks suggest you may want to stay away from Team Blue if you’re currently in need of a new graphics card (and have been playing a lot of COD lately).

German outlet ComputerBase is the source of these benchmarks, and they certainly provide an eye-opening look into what Intel’s current discrete graphics cards have to offer. We’ve reviewed the Intel Arc A770 and actually found it to be a solid option for 1080p that holds its own in 1440p.

However, driver issues have always been a worry with the current Arc Battlemage line-up, and that could be one reason Team Blue fell behind the competition here. In our own tests, the A770 provided decent competition versus the RTX 4060 Ti and RX 7600 XT, but here we see it struggling to get close to even the RTX 3060.

The Intel Arc A770 fails to hit 60 FPS with upscaling at 1080p (extreme preset); ComputerBase reports they are using the latest Intel Arc 6129 driver version which should be updated with BO6 support.

As you can imagine, the flagship Intel A770 card didn’t fare much better at 1440p, hitting just 45.7 FPS; neither GPU was tested at 4K. While this does benchmark with XeSS Ultra Quality upscaling enabled, it is still against the Extreme Preset, so it’s possible you’ll enjoy smoother framerates once those settings are bumped down.

Overall, these benchmarks are fairly disappointing to see, especially since Intel’s discrete GPUs only look to be getting better with time as driver support slowly catches up to the well-established AMD and Nvidia. We recently tested our Arc A770 in God of War Ragnarok and it performed pretty well once you made use of XeSS or FSR, so we hope to see its Black Ops 6 performance drastically improve with further driver updates.
