Live Translate, available on all models, will translate “phone calls in real-time directly on your device. You will essentially have your own personal translator, which will make multilingual communication easier.”
At launch, “13 languages (17 regions) are supported”, with further language to be added via updates. These languages already include Chinese Simplified, English (India, United Kingdom, United States), French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish (Mexico, Spain, United States), Thai, and Vietnamese.
To use Live Translate:
- Make or receive a call using the native phone app, and tap on Call assist.
- Tap on Live Translate.
- Bixby Voice (Samsung’s proprietary AI assistant) will automatically use the language configuration selected in your device’s Settings to start the conversation.
