Features and highlights of the Chronos gaming PC

  • GPU: To begin with, the Chronos comes packed with the RTX 4070 Ti Super, a mid-range GPU with 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM. With this much VRAM, you won’t have to worry about running into memory-related issues in games. We reviewed the RTX 4070 Ti Super and found it to be a solid card for 1440p gaming, and it can also deliver decent results in some games at 4K. However, it does struggle a bit in harsh 4K environments.
  • CPU: For the processor, you’ll get the Intel Core i7-14700K. This is yet another mid-range component offering 20 cores and 28 threads. We reviewed the 14700K and found that it offers a great blend of productivity and gaming performance, making it solid for those who want the best of both worlds.
  • SSD and DDR5 RAM: For storage, you’ll get a 1TB SSD, which should be more than enough for most users. On top of that, an SSD will provide fast boost and game load times. You’ll also get 32GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR5 RAM. Most games these days require 16GB, so you’ll be fine with 32GB in games and productivity software.
  • Liquid Cooler: As Intel CPUs tend to run hot, especially during demanding tasks, ORIGIN has included a Corsair iCUE H100i ELITE CAPELIIX XT liquid cooler in the PC. This will make sure the 14700K stays within the safe temp limits, something that will help improve its lifespan.

Should you get the Chronos gaming PC?

If you’re looking for a gaming PC for 1440p gaming which can also run some games smoothly at 4K, then the ORIGIN Chronos is the way to go. The RTX 4070 Ti Super can easily run most games smoothly with everything set to Ultra. During our testing, it was able to deliver 93 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 at 1440p, which dropped to 44 at 4K. However, keep in mind that we weren’t using DLSS. Aside from that, the 14700K is also a solid processor for CPU-intensive tasks, and the 1TB SSD and 32GB DDR5 RAM will help with keeping the overall performance of the PC smooth.
