RTX 4060 and AMD Ryzen 5 7600X bundle

ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 EVO OC Edition 8GB GDDR6 and AMD Ryzen 5 7600X – Zen 4 6-Core 4.7 GHz

What’s in this deal?

This deal contains a CPU and a GPU. These are the two vital components required for any build, and this is great as you can get other components based on the CPU and GPU's performance and specifications. That said, you're almost spending $500 on this bundle, and you should know what you're getting for your money. So, we'll take a look at each component and check its performance as we've reviewed them.

CPU: Ryzen 5 7600X

This is the entry-level processor for the Ryzen 7000 series, and we've tested it in-house for our Ryzen 5 7600X review. We put it through its paces in gaming and synthetic testing and it offers solid performance, making it excellent value for money.

This CPU features 6 cores, 12 threads, a 4.7 GHz base clock speed, a 5.3 GHz boost clock speed, a 32MB L3 cache, and a 105W TDP. The six cores can handle a maximum of 5.3 billion instructions per clock cycle, meaning it should be able to handle various gaming and professional workloads without breaking a sweat.

On top of that, you can overclock it to boost its performance, but doing so will also increase its power draw and thermal output. So, if you plan on overclocking your CPU, we recommend using the best thermal paste in combination with the best CPU cooler to keep its temperature under control.

As for its gaming performance, we ran Cyberpunk 2077 and Days Gone at 1080p low resolution paired with the RTX 4070 Ti Super. These titles were notoriously difficult to run, and at 1080p, games become more CPU-dependent as the GPU doesn’t have as work as hard compared to say, 4K.

Our Ryzen 5 7600X build managed to churn out 295 FPS in Cyberpunk 2077 and 236 FPS for Days Gone. So, you should be able to play games at any resolution without the CPU holding it back, but given the GPU that is part of this bundle, you will be limited to 1080p and 1440p.

GPU: RTX 4060

You'll get the ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 OC graphics card in this deal. We've tested the ASUS ROG Strix GeForce RTX 4060 OC in-house for its review, and it performed well for an entry-level GPU.

While the models might be different, they're both OC variants of the RTX 4060. Our variant had a base clock speed of 1830 MHz and a boost clock speed of 2670 MHz, which could be boosted up to 2,700 MHz.

The ASUS Dual RTX 4060 has a boost clock speed of 2,505 MHz at default, and 2,535 MHz with OC mode enabled. So, it is slightly slower, but you can always overclock the GPU for better in-game performance. That said, like the CPU, the power draw and thermal output of the GPU will also increase if you overclock it, so ensure you've got adequate cooling solutions in place, like the best 140mm PC case fans.

As for its in-game performance, we ran a handful of games, such as Cyberpunk 2077, Rainbow Six Siege, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider, in 1080p and 1440p at max settings. We got the following results:

GameFPS (1080p)FPS (1440p)
Cyberpunk 20777748
Rainbow Six Siege392241
Shadow of the Tomb Raider163101

The RTX 4060 is more than capable of pushing games in 2K, but expecting it to give 60 FPS at 4K would be too much. So, we recommend sticking to FHD and QHD and leveraging DLSS to further bolster the FPS.

How much are you saving?

According to Camelcamelcamel, you can currently get the Ryzen 5 7600X for $206.79 and an ASUS Dual GeForce RTX 4060 V2 OC for $299.99. While this isn't the exact same GPU, it should serve as a good benchmark. At their lowest price at Amazon, these components will cost you around $506.78, while Newegg is offering both of them for $488.97, meaning you'll save $17.81.
