If you’re after something not too expensive doing the basics, but with a good range of connectivity options, then the Canon Pixma G3750 might just be the home printer to go for. It’s known as the MegaTank Pixma G3270 in the States and so applies to that too. Bringing with it a 3-in-1 ink tank solution it does go for ease of use and versatility making it a simple pick for personal use. So let’s see what it brings to the table.
- Printer Output: Color
- Printer Type: InkJet (2 FINE Print Head)
- Connectivity Technology: USB, 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi, Wireless Direct
- Duplex Printing: Yes, manual
The Canon Pixma G3750/MegaTank G3270 is a notch above the cheapest range of AIO printers. It does provide a good option for those with the odd printing job here and there. Especially with the capability of running color prints, photos, and the possibility to scan. Even the options for wireless and phone prints make it a strong budget choice, especially with the low running costs for the ink tank technology.
- Very cheap to buy and run with refills
- All-in-one solution with print, copy, and scan capabilities
- Has a lot of wireless printing options
- Lightweight and easy to set up
- Slow printing and rather loud as well
- Limited paper capacity and without a front paper tray just one open one
- Limited physical connection printing options
- Small and harder to use screen and controls
Box contents and setup
When you get the printer, you will find just a few items in the box. Here’s what to expect:
- PIXMA G3570 Printer
- 4 ink bottles (1 x Black 135ml and 1 x C/M/Y 70ml)
- Two print heads
- Power cord
- Manuals and other documents
The printer itself is nicely lighter weighing around 6kg (13.2lbs). That makes it a lot easier to lug around or take out from the box, which is easy to do following the instructions and taking your time to unpack it all. The inks and extras come in a cardboard box to take out, along with all the manuals including the instructions.
These are a bit basic and just prompt you to scan the QR code and go to the website to follow the instructions there instead of having a physical copy. Use either a smartphone or a website to go through the setup of the printer. Requires you to un-tape all the lids and flaps and start it off.

There are onscreen instructions as well to help guide you but the online videos can be a lot easier to figure out what you’re doing, including installing the printer heads onto the rail, and then emptying your ink into each tank. With three different colored bottles and a bigger black one on the other side, it’s hard to do this wrong, especially with keyed bottles that only fit in one slot.
I found this to be easy to follow while doing on a PC but the app control is a good feature too. During the then 7 minutes of waiting for the ink to initialize you can connect it to the WiFi for wireless printing and many ways to connect it up to the network.
Design
The all-in-one printer is definitely a cutback and as simple a version as you may want. Apart from including wireless options over an even more basic model, it keeps things on the down low with a plastic body and soft look to it. It doesn’t have many openings to utilize as it omits a front paper tray to slide out, instead just having the output area able to be pulled out. Instead, you have the loading tray at the back sliding right in that supports 100 sheets of plain paper but leaving it open to dust and debris.
It does only support up to A4, it’s no large format printer, with the scanner also having A4 and slightly larger letter sizes. It also keeps support for some heavier papers with plain paper ranging from 64-105 g/m² while specialty papers like photo glossy can be approximately 265 g/m². It does support duplex printing but only manually, requiring you to put the paper back yourself.
With it being a budget solution, the controls on it are rather bulkier and set in place. With quite a small 1.3-inch monochrome LCD display that sits on a slightly angled face at the front, which can’t be adjusted and limits you to where you can adjust to make it more comfortable to use. Instead, you get an array of buttons to adjust settings or complete scans and work it. But it might not be necessary to have anything better considering the app and network printing you’ll mostly be doing anyway.
Lastly, the connectivity available on the printer is a good selection that gives you a lot more capability. As it has a USB B port for connecting to computers and laptops, along with Wi-Fi supporting both 2.4 and 5GHz frequencies. This enables you to use mobile apps or cloud printing directly without all the necessary cables. As well as supporting Alexa and Google Assistant for working on automation.
Print results and speed
Then after all the setting up and preparing, we ran a few test prints along with timing a sequence of them at the same time. So with both standard papers, we also put in some photo prints to see if it held up for its budget. Although pictured below, it might not be the easiest to see in the compressed format.
But overall, the print quality is good. The colors don’t bleed into each other, with a clear edge to them, along with the gradients being well done. The same is true for monochrome prints where the ink stays well put and is quite legible including the smallest fonts without any dots or interference. Although you can see some streak lines across the whole page and might be a bit of a detriment.
The biggest photo print also seems to have damage to it, as the A4 glossy page looks to have dot marks down the length, something that could have come from being pulled by the rollers. Otherwise, the photos on glossy paper are rather impressive and give a good-looking result for the budget, even if it lacks all the color depth of a printer with more options. but considering the budget it can get the job done.
As for speed, it likes to take its time, especially with color prints, and has quite loud rollers when collecting the paper from the tray. But with that, it took around 32 seconds to print a full-color test page, with the monochrome taking 11 seconds instead. As for a 6-page run of color and monochrome, there we saw it take between 18 and 32 seconds per color page, and then 9 to 12 seconds for the black and white. It’s certainly not the fastest of printers.

Here we have a more in-depth look at what the printer has to offer. The listed specs provide more information on some of the things you’re looking for. This is rather minimal but not surprising, as the printer can be found for £230 on Amazon UK, and $230 in the US at the time of writing.
Now if you’re looking for economic value, the printer estimates a yield of 6,000 black pages and 7,700 pages in color (with an increase if run on economy mode). That’s for the whole tank and the refills cost £13.99/$17.99 for black and £9.09/$12.99 for color. That would put the cost per page at £0.002/$0.003 for black and £0.004/$0.005 for color. Which is very inexpensive if it lives up to it.
Final word
- Printer Output: Color
- Printer Type: InkJet (2 FINE Print Head)
- Connectivity Technology: USB, 2.4/5GHz Wi-Fi, Wireless Direct
- Duplex Printing: Yes, manual
All in all the Canon Pixma G3570/G3270 is a rather good budget printer. Although a fingerprint magnet it is a not-too-intrusive and light printer option that gives you an inexpensive option for your home. If you want an economical solution with some good connection types then it is a viable solution for time to time printing. But without an automatic duplex, a hidden paper draw, and no big format support it’s not the best solution for everyone.
