Processor Physical Characteristics

This section discusses the physical properties of processors. Microprocessors are solid-state integrated circuits, which means that they have no internal moving parts. Their physical characteristics are described in very different terms, and the manufacturing processes used to create them are an important factor in their reliability and performance. While most of the design factors in a processor have to do with their internal architecture, physical aspects such as packaging and cooling are very important as well.
