Hi, I have been having problems printing from the web and my email. I decided to uninstall and reinstall my printer drivers. However the following message is blocking me from doing so.

Reintall to system 32 directory: VGA.DRV

Can anyone please tell me how I do that? Then I can try and reinstall the printer drivers if that is the problem with my printing.

Any help or guidance is really appreciated

Thanks

Does the printer work offline?
Exactly what happens when you try to print e-mail and web data?

Hi Ski. Thank you for replying to my post.

Yes the printer works off line in word etc. When I try to print my email or from a web page literally nothing happens..

This is why I thought I would try and reinstall the drivers...but now this AVG problem is stopping me.

Any help or suggestions is gratefully appreciated

vga.drv is an old Windows 95 video driver.
If you're not using Win 95, then see if repairing Internet Explorer helps.

You're welcome.

On the Windows taskbar, click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs.
Click Internet Explorer 6.0 to select it.
Click Add/Remove or Change/Remove.
Select Repair Internet Explorer, and then click OK.
If prompted, restart your computer.

Hi Ski, I tried that...but IE isn't showing on the main list when I first go into Add/Remove. I then click on the margin on the left side where is says add remove windows components? But this doesn't let me repair it.

Any further suggestions would be great.

Thanks loads

Check the list for 'Microsoft Internet Explorer'.

Hi Ski,

Its definitely not showing anything to do with Internet Explorer, Microsoft Internet Explorer...nothing that corresponds.

I can only find it when I click in the left margin of add remove windows components and then that won't let me do anything other than uninstall which obviously I don't want to do.

Try this -
Click Start, click Run, in the Open box type the following command(NOTE: it's case sensitive), and then click OK:
rundll32 setupwbv.dll,IE6Maintenance "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\Setup\SETUP.EXE" /g "C:\WINDOWS\IE Uninstall Log.Txt"

Hi Ski, Thanks for all your time. Tried that but got an error message:-

"error loading setupwbv.dll"

The specified module could not be found

So maybe I have lost some bits somwhere!!>??**

D/L that file from the following link, install it in the Window\System folder, and rerun the IE repair command in my previous post:
http://www.dlldump.com/download-dll-files.php/dllfiles/S/setupwbv.dll/download.html

Hi Ski, Brilliant I am nearly there...however it runs the command you gave me fine but when it opens up the repair window the option to repair IE is grayed out and I cannot check the box ??
