Does it matter that Yahoo! Mail or HotMail do not use a secure connection?

Signing into Hotmail/Windows Live does use https. It is easy to miss it but keep looking at the address bar; it goes from http to https (after hitting "Sign In") and then back to http thereafter.
Yahoo seems to do it as gmail directly from an https page.
