Running Windows NT4 workstation, like most other versions of Windows, you can lock the appearence of Windows Explorer windows and panes. I like to be able to browse files with all details, especially ordered by date modified.
My question relates to the Open File dialog boxes which always open up in the default list view; I have to click on the details icon every time. Is there any way of locking these preferences. Then I find the window too small, and I can't see the flaming dates anyway without scrolling right,
On a similar note, all MS Office open file dialogs have the good old favorites shortcut. Why isn't this feature available on all products, and is there a tweak, or utility than can put it in all boxes.
