Discount Coupons

We all know what coupons are, of course; they are used in almost every industry to promote sales. They are sometimes offered on PC systems and components, though they are fairly unusual in this market. A substantial coupon can reduce the price of an item a great deal, so make sure to check for coupons, and use them as part of the equation of determining what vendor you are going to use.

In the retail channel, you'll occasionally see coupons offered in weekly newspaper flyers, though it's more common for larger stores to just temporarily drop prices or make use of rebates. Local PC shops will sometimes use coupons to promote sales of whole systems, or to clear out older component inventory.

The popularity of "electronic coupons" in the online world has increased greatly in the last couple of years. You use them by entering a special discount code in the appropriate box when finalizing an order; the coupon is then applied to the total order cost. In some cases a company will have multiple coupons available: some for orders of a particular size, or a special code for new customers and a different one for existing customers, and so on.

The nice thing about online coupons, of course, is that they are just text codes, and as such are easily shared, using the communication powers of the Internet. Where there's a demand there will be a supply, and many web sites have popped up that specialize in listing the various online coupons available from major vendors (for all sorts of products, not just computers). Here are a few of the more common ones you might want to check out:
