With AAA game sizes growing rapidly, many even above the 100GB mark, acquiring the right SSD to brace your gaming PC is of high priority.

While M.2 NVMe SSDs are far more popular at the moment in terms of speeds, you shouldn’t scoff at the Crucial MX500 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD. It’s now on sale on Amazon with a 20% discount knocking its price down.

It’s now available for just £269.99, saving you £76 from the original £345.99 price.

What makes the Crucial MX500 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD worth purchasing?

  • 4TB Storage Capacity: Take your gaming PC’s usage to a new level thanks to the MX500’s 4TB of storage space. Capable of storing a large collection of AAA games.
  • 3D NAND: Utilize the MX500’s Micron 3D NAND, ready to provide better performance within your SSD. It uses a low amount of power while providing great performance results.

Is now a good time to act on this deal?

Considering the SSD price rises due to a shortage of 3D NAND flash for manufacturers, it appears as though the Crucial MX500 4TB 3D NAND SATA SSD has been impacted by it.

While the lowest price ever appears to have been very generous for a 4TB SSD, the current £269.99 price is out of place. For less or around the same price, you can get your hands on a 4TB M.2 NVMe SSD, which is much faster than SATA.

This likely stems from the aforementioned shortage of 3D NAND flash and its impact on SSD prices. Depending on whether you already have an M.2 SSD slot used on your gaming PC’s motherboard or own a laptop that can utilize this SATA drive, it is still a beneficial purchase.

Future deals could potentially see prices drop slightly further down, but since prices are already on the rise, it may be unlikely.

Nonetheless, 4TB of storage space whether with SATA or M.2 NVMe is a whopping amount, that is sure to keep you covered for many years. If high read and write speeds are not too much of a concern for you, then this would be a good acquisition to make at this current period.
