Rumors regarding the launch of new GPU models between AMD and NVIDIA remain, and there is no doubt that a plethora of PC players will be keeping tabs open. Considering the power of the current high-end GPUs between the AMD 7900 XTX and RTX 4090 and their pricing, fans should expect this to be maintained with the rumored NVIDIA 5000 series, and AMD Radeon RX 8000 series.

While you wait, Amazon currently has the Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Graphics Card on sale, with a 5% discount. It knocks $50 off the original $1079.99 price, allowing you to get your hands on it for $1029.99.

with 24GB GDDR6, AMD RDNA 3

Let’s take a look at its stand-out features.

Why you should purchase the Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX Graphics Card

  • 24GB VRAM: Equivalent to the RTX 4090 GPU, with enough VRAM to max out settings at the 4K resolution. Direct competition to the RTX 4080 in terms of performance.
  • Dual ARGB Light Bar: Add a layer of RGB lighting to your PC gaming experience. Colors can easily be changed using the TriXX software.
  • Fluid Motion Frames/Frame Generation: Boost performance in very demanding games. Equivalent to NVIDIA’s 40 series exclusive Frame Generation.

Is this a better choice than the RTX 4090?

While the Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX maintains 24GB of VRAM, it is still not as powerful as the RTX 4090. Its direct competition is the RTX 4080, in which it provides better or equal performance to NVIDIA’s GPU. This is more notable at resolutions such as 1440p instead of 4K.

Despite the 7900 XTX not being better than the 4090, it is still viewed as a better purchase, considering how much cheaper it is in comparison. With improvements to drivers and the aforementioned Fluid Motion Frames, it may turn out to be an even more beneficial acquisition later down the line.
