It’s time for a Windows Update! Not only in news form, but for your PC! Who doesn’t love to read about UPDATE KB5006674 (OS Build 22000.258)? To be honest, it does give some indication as to how fast Microsoft is reacting to major errors in the new operating system, like how some brands of printers just aren’t working over USB.

There’s nothing particularly major in this update, but Microsoft has fixed connectivity issues between Intel “Killer” and “SmartByte” networking software, so anyone with those issues should now see a more official fix for your connection woes. This issue mostly affected streaming video and loading web pages, as it’d cause the PC to drop UDP packets, which are needed to connect with servers.

Outside of this, there’s a highlight that says “Updates security for your Windows operating system” and has no explanation as to what it actually contains. There’s a larger list on the release notes, but it’s just a list of the things that have seen an update and not what they’ve fixed in them. But at least they’re not aware of any issues this time around!
