Nvidia has been toying with the idea of AI PCs for quite some time but has never confirmed any launch plans. However, in a recent interview with Bloomberg, Dell, and Nvidia CEOs, Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) mentions that there may be plans for Nvidia AI PCs in the pipeline. With the RTX 50 series soon upcoming, it could be suggested that Nvidia doesn’t want to draw attention away from its launch by making any official AI PC confirmations. Although nothing has been said about any exact release date, this interview does strongly suggest that we should expect to see a dive into the world of AI PCs from Nvidia very soon.
Will Nvidia be entering the world of AI PCs?
In recent times, we’ve seen how Nvidia has been branching into other areas and forging new paths within the tech world. It was only last year when Reuters announced that Nvidia was working on an ARM-based processor that could run Windows. However, no official date has been confirmed for this release, not to mention a lack of information on the product. In addition to this, Nvidia confirmed its collaboration with MediaTek in featuring Nvidia RTX GPUs for dimensity Auti systems in cockpits.
However, whether Nvidia would be branching out into the world of AI PCs has remained a mystery, until now. A recent interview shown on the Bloomberg Television YouTube channel features a conversation between Bloomberg, Dell, and Nvidia CEOs wherein Jensen Huang (Nvidia CEO) confirms that plans for Nvidia AI PCs are on the horizon.
In the interview, Ed Ludlow (Bloomberg CEO) states “Jensen where is Nvidia’s place in the AI PC?” to which Dell CEO Micheal Dell responds “Comes back next year”. Jensen finally ends the conversation by saying “Exactly”, providing reason to believe that Nvidia AI PCs are currently in the works and we should expect to see them sometime next year. It seems that not only is Nvidia planning to enter the AI PC realm, but is doing so in partnership with Dell.
Later in the interview, Jensen discussed how Nvidia GPUs use the same Tensor core as their data canter-centric AI accelerators. On top of this, it’s important to note that Nvidia GPUs are already utilized in AI PCs. Dell PCs use Nvidia GPUs to enhance AI acceleration, proving that the technology is perfectly capable.
