AMD’s brand new budget-friendly processor under its 3D v-cache guise has finally hit shelves at its appropriately-priced $450. Reviews across the board seem quite stellar, as the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is being positioned as a relatively cheaper option for higher gaming workflows.

Now fully released and available at a variety of different online retailers across the globe, the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is gearing up to be one impeccable new addition to AMD’s 7000 series lineup. The new processor is built on a 5nm process situated for the AM5 chipset, leveraging a boost clock speed of up to 5.0GHz in tandem with a remarkable 96MB of L3 cache, which gives it its namesake.

As per AMD, the 7800X3D is set to be a gaming icon at an affordable price point, leveraging some impressive internals, like a beefier L3 cache, to deliver streamlined workflows without breaking the bank. The new CPU is set to hit store shelves on April 6th at an MSRP of $449, making it a rather enticing new chip on the block if the metrics can prove its worthiness.

Thus far, several reviews do show just how powerful the 7800X3D truly is, with both Digital Trends and PC Gamer gifting it a 9 out of 10, and Tom’s Hardware awarding it a 4.5 out of 5. Other publications, however, are highlighting some flaws with the chip, like The Verge’s Tom Warren, who gifted the 7800X3D an 8 out of 10, and PC Mag giving it a 3 out of 5, both due in large part to the chip’s sluggish performance in CPU-intensive tasks.

What is the max RAM speed for 7800X3D?

Currently, the officially supported memory speed for the 7800X3D is 5200 MHz. While it’s unclear as of yet if this is the case, given the fact the chip has only just been released, it’s safe to assume that 5200 MHz is the number to go by for compatible RAM speeds with the 7800X3D.
