Though the smallest of the new bunch out of AMD, the eight-core 7800X3D will prove to be an interesting new addition to the firm’s ever-growing 7000 series lineup. But what is the Ryzen 7 7800X3D release date?
The X3D chips, which were announced amid CES 2023, will mark a newfound introduction to AMD’s incredible L3 3D V-Cache technology, a form of advanced packaging and stacking to allow larger benefits in gaming and content creation.
Ryzen 7 7800X3D release date
And we now know that the Ryzen 7 7800X3D will arrive on April 6. That’s after the arrival of the two Ryzen 9 chips, the 7950X3D, and the 7900X3D.
While there may be some things we know about the internals of AMD’s new chips, there is still a multitude of question marks, one among them being the staggered releases. Although officially the firm announced a supposed February 14th launch, AMD soon walked back these claims stating the date was in error and an official launch would be announced at a later date.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D details
What we also know ahead of release is the pricing of the new CPUs, and the 7800X3D is priced at $449. That seems a sensible place to put the chip, given its more powerful siblings will be $599 (7900X3D) and $699 (7950X3D) respectively.
Of course, what matters most is performance across the board, and we’re as keen as you to get some verified benchmarks to consider. As soon as we do, we’ll give you our expert view on this next step in AMD’s Zen 4 journey.
In any case, these chips will be sure to provide some new qualities in performance and pricing. It’s unclear as of yet how the chips will size up to Intel’s own options, but the firm has remained relatively consumer-facing in its approach to new chip and so all being well they’ll be a competitive option.
What is the maximum RAM speed for 7800X3D?
The Ryzen 7800X3D comes with an officially supported speed of 5200 MHz. However, with the correct overclocking, this could be pushed higher.
