The iPad Air 6 is reportedly hitting US soil soon, and its arrival could beat even Apple’s own announcement. The company’s next generation of Air series tablets is allegedly on its way to being shipped from China to overseas locations. So, it should only be a matter of time until the first few smatterings of Apple’s new iPad tech hit the mainstream.

These reports come courtesy of Weibo insider Instant Digital (via Macrumors), who claimed that “everything is ready” for its launch. They also noted that the iPad Air 6 will come in two sizes, likely the 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch models that Apple’s tablets are usually available in. Of course, like most leaks, you will need to take this information with your trusty salt shakers in hand. Since Apple has not confirmed anything regarding the release of its next iPad Air generation, some of these details, like its variants, could still change.

Alleged iPad Air 6 specs equip the next generation with Apple M2

If they’re to be believed, the iPad Air Pro 6’s specs will reportedly equip the upcoming generation with Apple’s M2 chip. For those unfamiliar, this processor is a massive step up from the Air 5’s M1 chip both in efficiency and capability. It’s also worth noting that the M2 had only previously been available on the iPad Pro 6, so those who enjoy the much lighter and more portable form factor of the Air series can finally enjoy processing speeds that rival its bigger counterparts.

However, with the as-yet unconfirmed iPad Pro 7 rumored to launch with Apple’s top-of-the-line M3 chip, most of the attention could again be drawn away from the oft-undercelebrated Air series. Only time will tell if it does, though you may not have to wait long, as reports suggest Apple may be preparing for an announcement on new iPad models towards the end of March.
