Samsung Unpacked Part Two is happening on October 20th at 10 AM ET, but Android users’ eyes and pockets are already looking toward Christmas and the new year for a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra release date.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Release Date
Users are currently looking forward to two upcoming Samsung Android handsets, Samsung Galaxy S21 FE that’s rumored to be pushed back to Jan 2022, and the Samsung Galaxy S22. Q4 is going to be a tough choice for consumers with Samsung competing against Google’s first premium flagship effort in its Google Pixel 6 line which features its Tensor SoC that focuses on machine learning.
IT looks like Samsung is focusing on fashion tech more than competing in the technology prowess marathon, we only need to look towards their foldable offerings to see that. With that being said, leaks are already spreading about Samsungs next flagship handset.
Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra Leaks
Renowned Twitter leaker ‘OnLeaks’ has already given us some juicy renders of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, complete with an unusual rear camera design:
Taking visual cues from the Galaxy Note design we love to try and fit into our pockets, The Galaxy S22 featured a bold yet sleek design with its flat front and rear complemented by a wrap-around glass design. The P-shaped camera array is similar to the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but we’re assuming the internals have received a considerable boost. There’s a slot on the base for an S-Pen, but it looks like the S22 Ultra is sporting the same 5,000 mAh battery the S21 Ultra had, so fingers crossed for some amazing developments here. Or a melting S-Pen, either or.
When it comes to the physical feel and size of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, we’ve been given a pretty good heads up thanks to YouTube channel Pigtou. They’ve managed to get hands-on with a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra dummy unit, which shows us the handset will sport a 6.8-inch dual-curved display (at the sides of the handset). Interestingly, there’s no cut-out for an S-pen slot though?
Finally, the most recent Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra leak comes in the form of tempered glass screen protectors. This one might not seem like much, but leaks like this give us information about form factors, front camera positioning, screen size, and more. Overall, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S22 will be shorter yet wider when compared to the S21 Ultra with rounder, yet smaller bezels. We’re probably looking at a ‘punch hole’ selfie camera too, with a 6.1-inch screen on the S22 and a 6.8-inch screen on the S22 Ultra.
When Will The S22 Ultra Release?
Hopefully, we’ll get some more information on Wednesday with the Samsung Unpacked Event Part 2. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series has now received 3C certification in China (It has 25w wireless charging), which means the handset could see a Christmas/early 2022 launch.
