How to install Steam on an ASUS ROG Ally

Download the Steam Installer

Begin by visiting the official Steam website. On the homepage, locate and click the blue button that says “Install Steam.” The SteamSetup.exe file will start downloading.

Run the Steam Installer

Once the download completes, run the SteamSetup.exe file.

Install Steam

You might receive a prompt from Windows asking if you want to run the file. Click “Yes.” A new window will open, where you need to click “Next,” select your preferred language, and finally click “Install.” If you want to run Steam right away after installation, make sure the “Run Steam” checkbox is ticked. Otherwise, uncheck it and click “Finish.”

Launch Steam

Open the Start Menu. Steam will likely require an update. Let it complete, which typically takes up to three minutes depending on your internet speed.

Log In or Create a Steam Account

After the update installs, the login page for Steam will appear. Enter your login credentials if you already have an account. If not, click “Create a free account.”

Access Your Steam Library

Upon successful login, you’ll land on your Steam Library page. To install any game, click its title under “All Games” and hit the blue “Install” button.

Launch Your Game

Once your game is installed, it’ll appear as a shortcut in the Start Menu or on your desktop. You can either launch it directly from there or open Steam and launch it from within the user interface.

Enjoy your gaming Steam sessions on your Asus ROG Ally.
