Since initially being announced, speculation and rumors surrounding the highly anticipated Intel Battlemage GPUs have been rife. Though details regarding these upcoming graphics cards have remained scarce until now, more information is starting to come out of the woodwork, with its alleged release slated for late 2024. This time, the latest reports have given fans a concrete albeit unconfirmed release window, with these GPUs apparently arriving before everyone’s favorite annual discount bonanza: Black Friday.

That’s according to Hardwareluxx editor Andreas Schilling on Twitter/X (via VideoCardz), who stated that Intel partners “on the quiet are talking about a release of Battlemage in Autumn 2024, [with] Black Friday [being] the latest [it could drop].” Now, with the company yet to actually reveal when the Intel Arc Battlemage release date will be, we’d recommend taking these details with a heaping helping of salt. However, since this latest rumor lines up with what most reports have revealed to date, it may only be a matter of time until Intel comes out with an announcement of its own.

Intel Battlemage GPUs could drop before Black Friday

Unfortunately, information regarding the Intel Arc Battlemage specifications is even more difficult to come by than its launch date. Of course, you can rest assured that it’ll be a much more potent and advanced offering than its Alchemist predecessor. After all, out of the few unofficial tidbits that have been divulged so far, Battlemage GPUs are allegedly doubling their core count, providing users with much-improved performance in both computing tasks and gaming.

With the Battlemage’s bolstered specs, the upcoming GPUs will reportedly be comparable to the vaunted 4070 series. Now, if this does end up being true, we may be looking at a new graphics card series that’ll be a viable alternative to the typical AMD and Nvidia offerings. Only time will tell, though, if it will, so while you wait, we suggest checking out the best GPUs in 2024 so you can compare the Battlemage to some of the top models in the market.
